Overnight 4×4 Trip
Took a nice over night trip down to the Cove with Curt and James as passengers. We had plans to meet up with others but a lot of plans fell through and it ended up just being us. We did run into a larger group of Toyotas but didn’t run with them. We choose the stay at our pace.
Friday night we stayed in Prentice Cooper at Davis Pond and over night it got down to a low of 24. Saturday we woke up and started down Hailey Creek Rd to Sequatchie. From there we headed into the Cove and started our run. By lunch we made it to AC cave and hung around late into the afternoon shooting pistols.
Saturday night we found a good spot to camp and set up camp again. We didn’t expect it, but it did sprinkle on us pretty much all night. However we stayed good and dry despite not having a big dining fly.
Sunday we packed up for the last time and finished out the trail to Parson’s Pass. Just before there we ran into some guys and a girl who had been stuck in a mud hole all night. They we in good spirits despite not being prepared for an overnight stay. Before we could help them, we some issues of our own. While crossing the river I sat down on a rock and the truck stalled. Curt had to crawl out on the sliders and bumper to access the winch. Once on shore I found a blown EFI fuse. A quick replacement and we were able to pull the other guys out. We gave them some food and went on our way.
Parson’s is too rough for me anymore. After banging and bouncing our half way up it I decided to turn around. Good thing, I did. It was only going to get rougher and I had already buggered up my driveshaft some.
