I hit up Lake City yesterday. Without a shuttle partner, I climbed the logging road and boy that thing is steep.

These were taken on my iPhone.
Okay, so I did it.
Meghann was due for a new phone and with the deals on iPhones she got the 8gb one. After playing on hers for a half an hour I got a 16gb version. I have to say it’s pretty cool. Matter of fact I am posting from the cool blog app I found.

This is me on the open pages of a article in the November issue of Bike Mag.
So I went to the skatepark lastnight to escape wet trails and the impending rain that was to arrive today. While there I was surprised that I felt pretty good and wasn’t too stiff as I expected. However finding a grove is almost impossible with all the little kids zipping about. I really want to find something in the small section with the spine, but I just can’t seem to hold together any lengthy line without running over a prepubescent boy in his sisters jeans and/or a rasta toboggan. It seems the best place to be alone and get in a rhythm is the largest bowl. Although there was one 20″ rider there that had some noticeable smoothness.
I hope to see more of these type available in the States soon. You could have one hell of a bike trip out of one of those.
2010 Ford Transit is available here and has 25 mpg.

Well its been a long time since I updated my blog with some words. I have had a lot to say, but didn’t really want to say it.
So after the 3rd Snowshoe race I was amped to get back up there and finish out the series on a high note. The reality of it was far from that. They had us race on the Basin side, which isn’t that bad because the terrain is steep and technical. Good, right? Well it would have been if they didn’t tape off the darkest fold of the mountain. It seemed this was the only track on the mtn, Western and Basin sides included, that wasn’t the awesomenest dirt of all time. This track was a muddy bog and vintage Trevyn (course designer). He is fast in tight, awkward turns and can carry speed where the rest of us can’t. Just about the time you worked hard to build speed, there was some weird kink that had you pedaling to keep from stopping all together. Needless to say it didn’t suit my skillset. Furthermore there was this huck that in normal conditions wouldn’t have even required a second look. However with 4-6 ruts in the landing zone, it was challenging to say the least. I never go around obstacles, but with a visor destroying crash just before my race run and a resulting headache, I went around it in my race run and have never been more embarrassed. I finished my crappy run, jumped on the lift and said good bye to Snowshoe for the last time this year. And unless Stoney approves the future courses, it might be the last Snowshoe for awhile.
Moving on.
This past Saturday was a little local race down at the Trials Training Center in Sequatchie, TN. They have a small high, but have feature rich terrain. In accordance with this summer’s races, the conditions were muddy to say the least. But with fresh, new Specialized Storm tires, I was in control. The only downer was that because of the muddy conditions, the shuttle could only take us half way up. The rest was for us to push and slide ourselves up. This was a bummer. I did one practice run and my race run. I posted the fast time and had a good time. I hope to see more of these in the future.
