I saw that our weekly Tuesday night ride might be in jeopardy due to rain. So, I took the opportunity to ride Monday night. Temperatures in the 70s didn’t hurt either. Although it had sprinkled a little bit throughout the day, the ground was still dry. It was all good until I had to switch on my light and noticed more sprinkles as I approached EZ trail. By the time I got to Isthmus it was sprinkling pretty steady but with the leaf cover the dirt never really got muddy. The trade-off was that the already slick leaves were even slicker. But if you know me, you’ll know that only bothers me on the climbs. I embrace the slick conditions and have fun with it. I embraced it a little too much on Soccer and whipped out taking an old line. All was good except my shin took a good whack to the handlebar which smarted for a while. I have noticed that I always feel my strongest in the Fall. I don’t why that is. Maybe its the more relaxed riding schedule and I get to rest more? Again last night I felt strong and only stopped once in a full loop of the perimeter.
