Yesterday I had my 250 XC loaded up and ready for a post work ride. But of course on my way to the trails the sky opened and it poured. Rain, mud be damned, I was going no matter what. The 250 XC is equipped with 2 ignition curves. Stock is the performance mode and the second is a sport mode, which tames the hit of the motor slightly. I was hoping to soften the hit to gain a bit more traction and I was not disappointed. My rear tire is in pretty bad condition and its a dry, rocky tire, so I was in desperate need of any extra traction I could find. As I hoped, the hit was soft enough to allow the tire to hook up before spinning. The great thing is that all (enough) of the power is still there. I just have to twist the throttle a little more than usual. I’m heading to the shop today to pick up a remote switch.
