Snowshoe Race Series #1
Luckily for us, Snowshoe Resort has put on a really good race series over the last two years. Last year I did pretty good in the series and place 8th overall in the Pro/Open category. Because of such I got a number 8 race plate for the entire series this and thats pretty cool. As usual we traveled like a band of gypsies and took part of the free camping in the Silvercreek parking lot. We ate like Wafflehouse regulars with eggs and squealer every morning and didn’t do too bad at night with some Elk burger.
And in typical Snowshoe fashion the course was muddy and pedally. The tires of choice are Maxxis Wet Scream 2.5s and the tube fender is a must. But the course dried nice and by race time on Sunday I was back on Minion DHFs. Its hard to judeg how the course is going to dry from your last practice run at 11 am to your race run at 4:17pm, so I was quite sloppy with my timing in some sections. I was pleased overall with my run since I placed 10th in the pro category and won $50. However it wasn’t too stoke to leave my winnings on the roof of my truck only to drive off and loose them.
Oh well I’ll back back up at Snowshoe this weekend for some more riding, so look for more updates.
