A good day at The Farm in Strawberry Plains. Got the nerve up to hit the big table. Corey said he thought it was 110 ft. I can’t image it is that far as I don’t think I could jump that far. But regardless, it was a long way!

It’s spring and time to ramp up.

Got some old plastic from Jay and bought a compression tester from Sears. Compression was 210psi which is perfect.

Not a good race for me, but I did love the track. I got into a wreck in the first turn that broke my rear fender off and twisted my bars. It took forever to get restarted. I fought back through the pack and gained back up to 4th in my class or so I thought. The live timing was way off. I never made it farther than 7th and finished 8th out of 19, I think. I had to stop twice for fuel and even with all that drama of the wreck I still finished 96 out of 335. I would have liked to be around the 50 mark, but I need to continue to work on my endurance. I faded pretty bad towards the end.

Geritt and I did some practice on Saturday trying to get used to the sand and find a comfortable pace. It was way too easy to go too fast and blow up. This video is of our “race” pace, which was too fun. I’d rather go faster but just can’t for 2+ hrs. This practice session was right after the stupids quads ran and you can see all the double ruts that gave up fits.

It seems things like this always come in groups, but my MTB and Cruiser are down for repairs. The MTB was creaking and I knew it has needed new frame bearings for some time. I tore it down a couple night ago and I am awaiting new bearings from The Bike Zoo. The Cruiser needed a repair for the rear driveshaft and the brakes desperately needed a bleed and fluid flush. I did get the driveshaft repaired and back in last night. Also with the help of Meghann, I flushed and bled the brakes. But while I was under there I noticed the front driveshaft and power steering pump need attention as well.

I need to get the Cruiser fixed because my truck is showing signs of looming clutch issues. At least my 250sx, 530xcw and DJ are up and ready to rumble.

Fort update and Walden Pics

The fort is almost finished and the boys love it. Just a few more boards and some windows

Did a sweet ride Saturday on the moto. 33 miles and the details are on my Everytrail profile. But I snapped these going over Walden. I liked the light coming thru the clouds and it looks like the fire was bigger than I thought.
